Location: Executive Education Suite, Cardiff Business School, Colum Drive, Cardiff, CF10 3EU
As a member of the Innovation Network, Panalpina World Transport Ltd., would like to extend an invite to an Industry focused session and workshop on 3D Printing and (re)manufacturing; 3DP for (Re)Manufacturing: Challenges and the Way Ahead on Wednesday June 27th.
The session is organised through the project “Resilient Remanufacturing Networks: Forecasting, Informatics and Holons” (ReRuN) and therefore has a different format to Innovation Network events. Funded by EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council) the group looks at controlling the dynamics of remanufacturing systems and integrating both forward and reverse flows of materials into supply chains that are resilient. More information about the project may be found at the following website: http://gow.epsrc.ac.uk/NGBOViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP/P008925/1.
The group are focused on 3D Printing (3DP) and the opportunities that may offer in traditional manufacturing environments, and more recent focus has looked at the benefits of 3DP in a remanufacturing (circular economic) context in particular. This session will be an opportunity to learn more about the work, brainstorm and exchange ideas on the interface between 3DP and (re)manufacturing and explore opportunities for future collaborations. The session welcomes combined participation of both academics and industry practitioners.
Area of innovation being demonstrated
3D Printing for (Re)Manufacturing; Circular economy; Digital Supply Chains
