Event Description
For the first time since they were formed 3 years ago, the North Wales and South Wales Cyber Security Clusters will be coming together for a joint, ALL WALES CYBER SECURITY CLUSTER meeting.
Area of innovation being demonstrated
This special event, being run as part of the Wales Festival of Innovation, will also bring the very latest advice and best practice to Mid Wales for the first time - helping businesses and individuals in the region to better protect themselves from ever changing cyber attacks.
Jason Davies, co-founder and chair of the North Wales Cyber Security Cluster and cyber specialists on "zero vulnerability websites" will present on “The Must Do’s of Cyber Security - what businesses can do to better protect themselves from the rising threat of cyber attacks and how to stay ahead of the cyber attackers".
John Davies, co-founder and chair of the South Wales Cyber Security Cluster will talk about “Differentiating your business - using certifications like the Cyber Essentials Scheme and GDPR Data Protection Compliance to show that you are better than your competitors at protecting data and computer systems" In addition, existing members of both the Welsh Cyber Security Clusters, who work on the front lines of the cyber war responding and adapting to innovations in cyber attacks, will be on hand to share their experience and expertise - so come along and pick their brains!
Who should attend?
This event is aimed at individuals and businesses who are interested in cyber security and/or data protection and want to learn more about this very broad and highly topical issue. Typical attendees of meetings include owners of small to medium sized businesses, IT professionals, compliance managers, university faculty members and students working on computer related courses, people interested in re-training and finding new job opportunities in cyber security and/or compliance (there is a massive skills shortage!) and people who have heard stories about the cyber attacks and want to know what it’s all about and how to stay ahead of attackers.
Benefits of attending?
The afternoon will be run as an informal networking meeting with plenty of time to meet new people, chat over tea and welsh cakes and learn more about this fast moving area full of danger and opportunity.
