A day dedicated to raising the profile and celebrating the achievements of women in engineering. This event takes place on National Women in Engineering Day. The programme consists of hands-on activities and challenges linked to different aspects of engineering. Can you construct a 14m long cable-stayed bridge or create a pipe inspection gauge from K’NEX?
The event is funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering Ingenious scheme as part of a wider project entitled “Let’s Go on an Engineering Adventure in North Wales”.

This event celebrates engineering achievements being carried out at Wrexham Glyndwr University and local STEM companies.
Who should attend?
Female students in years 8&9 from schools local to Wrexham. Pre-booking is essential.
Engineering professionals wishing to engage the next generation with fun, engineering challenges and dispel myths around careers in engineering, especially linked to female engineers.

Students attending this event will be inspired and encouraged to seriously consider further study of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects. It is a chance to find out about engineering careers and to take part in hands-on activities organised by engineering professionals including female role models.
